Today, we’re excited to launch the official Rogue Writers Collective blog, your new digital hangout for writing inspiration, local literary news, and those deeply relatable moments when your creativity says, “Mmmm…nice try.”
Southern Oregon is bursting with stories. From Roseburg to Ashland, writers are crafting novels, poems, comics, memoirs, and possibly at least three manuscripts titled I’ll Figure It Out Later. We’re here for you.
Why a Blog? Why Now?
We started this blog because some things just can’t be squeezed into a social media post, even if we try hard and remove all the vowels (seriously, why is that a thing?). And our emails, fabulous as they are, can only carry so much before they start to feel like novellas. This blog gives us the space to go a little deeper, tell the stories behind the stories, and share the good stuff that deserves more than a cute emoji.
This blog is here to offer:
- A behind the scenes look at how RWC works
- Writing tips and craft guidance
- Interviews with people you’ll want to hear from
- Updates on RWC workshops and events
- Resources for you like the podcasts we recommend and the writing magazines we love
And yes, we’ll probably share writing memes. We are only human after all.
Our Mission (AKA Why We Care So Much)
The Rogue Writers Collective exists to promote the literary arts in Josephine, Jackson, and Douglas counties. We nurture emerging writers, bring high-quality literary programming to Southern Oregon, and strengthen the creative economy.
We believe:
- The arts can transform local economies
- Everyone deserves access to writing workshops and creative spaces
- Community beats isolation, every time
We are determined to build a region where writers and readers thrive.
Let’s Get This Conversation Started
This blog isn’t a lecture hall. It’s a living room full of writers. Tell us what you need:
Advice on revisions?
How to survive writing a synopsis?
A breakdown of how many books are “too many” (That’s easy. No such thing.)
Share your thoughts, join us at an event, or send us your questions. We’re building this space with you and for you.
Now, let’s write something unforgettable.
